I was wondering how does the computer know which one should be used. Can they conflict each other? Do they do different things as well? Thanx
Silverlight is used to play Silverlight content. Flash is used to play Flash content. It’s like .net and Java - two different programming languages and interpreters that perform similar functions.

Nope. I have both and works fine on my PC. Flash is used in much more applications like games, videos and other flash-rich content. Microsoft Silverlight is only mainly for Microsoft websites.
That’s what I think. However, there is NO confliction or they both working together doesn’t bring the computer’s performance to a stand-still or lower.
