Ringo’s All-Star Band - Gary Wright - Dream Weaver 07/22/08

Ringo’s All-Starr Band - Gary Wright performs Dream Weaver @ The Tachi Palace, Lemoore, CA July 22, 2008

Ringo’s All-Starr Band was a very special and memorable experience. I had promised to bring you the viewers another band from the British Invasion of the 60s. Can you get more British Invasion than The Beatles?? They were an incredible team. This band was great. What a show. I was particularly anxious to see Billy Squire, because he has been a question mark for me. I mean when his songs were hits I thought here is a guy with a great voice, good looking, and jams on the guitar. He almost reminded me of a young Jimmy Page with a great voice. I personal, along with many others, felt that he would definitely be a permanent fixture in the music industry. Many many times over the years I have wondered about what ever happened to Billy Squire. I still don’t know the whole story about where he has been, but when I heard that he was part of the show I had to be there. He was Fantastic and sang those familiar jams like we were back in time. I am also pleased to bring one of my favorite rock jams: Frankenstein by Edgar Winter himself. One of the first bands that my wife and I saw together was The Average White Band. So it was very special to see Hamish Stuart perform Pick up the Pieces and Work To Do. Colin Hay’s performances of the Man At Work hits Down Under and Who Can it be Now were equally as fun, memorable, and entertaining. Of course The Beatles tunes were there. We especially enjoyed witnessing Ringo sing his Beatles tune: I Want to be Your Man. What a cool song. The songs that I was really impressed with were those of Gary Wright. When he sang Dream Weaver it was magical. He could win the prize for “Sounds Most Like The Original Recording.” In some ways he stole the show for us. Although, when Ringo sang his tribute song to George Harrison, Never Without You, it was very special. Do yourself a favor and go see one of these shows. This is definitely a group of very talented musicians that deserves the title of All-Starr Band.

It’s so annoying when old people won’t shut the up at concerts. It’s one of the great hazards of seeing classic rock artists live- Sheila from human resources gets two Bud lights in her and has to chat through the whole show.
