Silverlight is giving a 4001 error, IE8 with Silverlight 3.0.40624 is installed. How can I resolve this error?

Its an image error.its not yet solved. however the official news person has said that you can get it rok by trynig 2 or 3 times.

I have had some photo’s sent via email and to enable me to see them I have to install Microsft Silverlight.which I’ve never heard of. Does anyone know if this is safe or is it a danger to my computer

use visual studio. not sure why you would need windows sdk. Silverlight runs on a proprietary engine much like Flash.

Okay so I’m running Windows Vista, and have always had the Silverlight Security update in Windows Update. Just curious to know what this program is and what I am supposed to do with it… if it serves no real purpose, should I just delete it?

Silverlight 3 supports out of browser client applications. Does that do what you want?

Here’s the system requirements for the Mac. Bottom line, you need an Intel based Mac and you have a PPC based one. Only solution is to get a new Mac unfortunately.

so if adobe flash for the web is free how are they suppose to make money of it and silverlight also??

Like GideonD said, the program Adobe Flash is what you use to make flash files such as movies and games. If you buy the program it costs about $700. Flash Player is a web plugin that allows people to share the content they created and other people to view that content. The player is free so that anyone can download and use it. It’d be kinda sucky if someone paid $700 for the Flash program and made something and noone could watch it because they didn’t want to have to pay to use the plugin to view the content. So it makes sense to have to pay for the program if you’re going to make flash content, and to have the web plugin be free so that anyone can view flash content that other people created and spent so much time and money on.

as i said, i have read and researched about it, but could not find a good explanation. could someone explain it to me in an understandable way? in a way simpler and more understandable than what i saw on the internet when i searched

a good search shows its (layman’s terms) like java but compatible with java and all other types like java. and has 3d tech in it and however many D’s , 4d 5d … <?> . my opinion its like a gamers expansion pak.

i wanted to look at virtual travel on bing and it said i needed to install silverlight3. what is it and is it okay to install? i’m a newbee on the computer.

Silverlight is a internet browser plugin (like Adobe Flash, Shockwave) from Microsoft.

It’s perfectly safe to install and it does not slow down your computer.
