I’m trying to watch Netflix, and it says I need to install Silverlight first. So i did. When I click open, it takes me to where the file is located and then tries to open in the Finder but nothing happens. Its making me really frustrated because I don’t understand why its not working. Can you pleeease help me?

I have it installed and sometimes theres updates for it, but i cant seem to figure out what it is. Apparently its like Adobe, which i guess i have too. Do i need both or should i only have one. And if so which should i have, and what do they really do? So which adobe program would i use, or uninstall, instead of silverlight?

Hi, I want to develop an application which involve record webcam at client side. And I found out that SilverLight 4 is ready for it. But is it ready to use for commercial application or just for developer?
While technically it might be ready with the features, I don’t know if it is accepted over other web technologies. Silverlight seems to be too late to the game so while it might have the capability, it might not have the audience. My employer (over 50K employees) hasn’t installed it on the desktops and I haven’t installed it at home (4 Windows systems). I’d encourage looking at customer installation statistics to ensure you pick the right platform for your target audience. If this is for a particular customer or a package solution, you can always make it a requirement of the product.
My silverlight got some error and I wanna reinstall it and fix the error.
Control panel has uninstalled, but it still says silverlight is installed in my PC.

Silverlight is not that easy to get rid of. The left invalid registry entries do cause malfunction of ur system if u have an unclean deletion.
If ur control panel doesnt help,
1. U can try "Uninstall" function of perfect uninstaller. Find it in the uninstall list, click "Uninstall" button n follow its wizard.
2. Reboot ur pc>press F8 into safe mode with network>run perfect uninstaller if u have>look at "Force Uninstall" section of the page.
Happy new year to all. Although when I first purchased my pc everything worked, after a while and with apparently no reason, everything that uses flash I cannot listen to. I can hear songs from spotify, view movies, listen to cds and all, so the sound works, but no videos from youtube and other stuff like that, like powerpoint presentations with music etc I see them but with no sound. Someone mentioned to me that I should install silverlight and that would solve the problem, but it is a bit more complicated than I thought it was, or maybe I am doing something wrong. I downloaded from the silverlight page but I seem to do something else as that only does not seem to work. Any ideas from the clever IT people? Thanks so much.
Hi, thanks for the reply but I forgot to say that I tried uninstalling and installing flash again with no result.
try installing firefox and then flashplayer.if youtube works from firefox then the allow thirdparty browser add-ons is probs unticked in ie properties .which will stop flash installing. if this cures the problem then do untick it afterwards as it stops a lot of toolbars you dont want installing themselves behind your back.
I’m trying to download it so i can use my netflix "watch tv/movies immediately" thing but it says i have to dl silverlight. I tried to dl it directly from netflix but it won’t let me! it says i must be authorized or something. what do i do? :[

Microsoft Silverlight is not supported on my computer. My CPU does not support the SSE instruction set which is required by Silverlight.

If you are just needing to view or place an order, click on the "Go directly to order entry" when logging in. This doesn’t require Silverlight and she’ll be able to view any past orders or place any new ones. For anything else, the Silverlight download is required.

Im trying to install silverlight but the installation fails right away and says: "unable to install silverlight because another program is being installed. finish the installation before proceeding" the problem is Im not installing anything! I even tried closing all my programs that are running and installed the windows updates i didnt have installed and it still doesnt work. whats going on?
May be u should check ur PC for malicious stuff and clear them & then try installing it.
