Lets say you have $5000 coming in per month, how much is a safe amount to spend on a mortgage, while still saving some for car payments, other loans, insurance, groceries, emergencies, etc? My dad said a 1/4 of your net income is a good idea per month to spend on your home payments…agree? disagree?

Your father is exactly correct! Listen to him! The people on here that recommend, 33% as a mortgage payment are also the ones who have contributed to the mortgage crisis in this country today! 33% of your net income is too much. It doesn’t leave you any buffer. If you are looking for the best home mortgage rates or want to reduce your mortgage loan payments, check out this site

What are those net traps you see in the movies in jungles? When people walk on them, the net will just shoot up and they are trapped. What are they called, and if anyone knows, how do you make them?

Please forgive eddie… the atmosphere of his home planet doesn’t support life.

The last one I saw was, I think for ‘96 where after the taxes gained were figured in, the net loss was 20 billion a year.

Not really sure..
Take into consideration- the level of work that these people do, most of them would not make enough money to require payment of taxes. Quite the contrary, I believe.

If they were filing tax returns on their earnings, they would likely qualify for the Earned Income Credit. This would mean they’d COST the Federal Government money, instead of increasing tax revenues.

I have the lg something by net ten. I want to get the samsung qwerty keyboard phone. Can I just switch sim cards or do I have to change my phone number?

i didn’t know NET10 had sim cards, but if they do, it should work. the identification information (i.e., your phone number and account information) should carry over with the SIM. not sure about your contacts if you have a media card in there.

I’m a trainee teacher and one of the pupils asked about this. I thought that there ought to be a perfect/optimum configuration, depending on the size of the sphere and the number of faces. If there is no limit on the smallness of the faces, then I suppose the perfect net would be a tessellating pattern, such as hexagons? But then how would we get it to curve round rather than go on for ever as a flat surface?

The net would not be a tesellation, or as you said, it would just be flat forever.

If you look up, say, the net of a Dodecahedron then you will see ‘cracks’ in the net which allow it to curve back on itself when folded up into the solid shape.

(Dodecahedron net)

To your pupil’s question: For a better approximation of a sphere than a Dodecahedron or Icosahedron, you would have to start using solids with different shaped faces (because there are, of course, only 5 platonic solids).

Using arbitrarily small triangles, you could get an arbitrarily close approximation of a sphere such as in this picture:

The elevator and passengers have a mass of 5500 kg. After a stop at the thirteenth floor, the elevator accelerates upward uniformly at 1.0 m/s^2 until it is rising at 2.0 m/s. What is the magnitude of the net force acting on the elevator as it accelerates?

Draw a free body diagram about the elevator and sum vertical forces

So T - m*g = m*a so T (net force) = m*(g + a) = 5500*(9.8 + 1.0) = 59400N

How would I calculate the net force acting on a 20 kg object if the acceleration is 9.8 m/s^2?

F= ma
F=(20)(9.8)
F= 196 Newtons.
Wow, physics.

I have to write a net ionic equation for nitric acid and calcium hydroxide and all the answers I’ve submitted have been rejected. If someone could explain how to create the equation that would be great.

Write your reactants as ions in solution, as well as your products as either ions or molecules. Then cancel out things that appear on either side of the reaction
So:
2HNO3 + Ca(OH)2 -> Ca(NO3)2 + 2H2O
becomes
2H+(aq) + 2NO3-(aq) + Ca2+(aq) + 2OH-(aq) -> Ca2+(aq) + 2NO3-(aq) + 2H2O(l)

As you can see, 2NO3- and Ca2+ appears on both sides of the equation, so we cancel them out, and they are excluded from the net ionic equation

Net ionic:
2H+ (aq) + 2OH- (aq) - 2H2O (l)

And how do they differ with respect to the effects of net water movements?

The osmotic pressure, turgor pressure and the water potential are the factors responsible for the net flow of water, from one cell to another.

I have a net book and would like to install some anti virus software, however most of it seems to be downloaded from a CD. As my net book does not have a CD drive this is not possible. How else can I install this (and any other) software?

A digital version of the software that can easily be found on the internet.

If you do have older CD’s with things you want to install then getting an external dvd drive is your best option
